David Stremba

Senior VP of Business Development

David Stremba is a first-generation university graduate originally from a low-income family and the gritty Philadelphia area whose rise through life has been based solely on a great education, hard work, persistence, tenacity, “street smarts,” fantastic parents and taking calculated risks, with a bit of luck thrown in from time-to-time. During his childhood/young adult years, he did not have the opportunity to travel outside of the US. However, he had a passion for learning about “foreign cultures;” he majored in International Politics and Economics at Penn State. At the age of 23, he made a life-changing decision –to not only travel internationally for the first time, but to resign from his prestigious finance job in Washington, DC and move to Tokyo, Japan. He had zero knowledge of Japan or anywhere in Asia, had no friends, contacts or Japanese language abilities nor did he have a job waiting him. He didn’t even have a place to stay. Cell phones, the internet, Google Maps, Siri, etc. did not exist at that time. He had limited funds. It was up to him alone to determine his success. It was a far from an ideal situation, but nevertheless, he was committed to expanding his personal boundaries and fulfilling his personal dream of exploring other countries and cultures by relying on his inherent qualities of persistence, tenacity, adaptability and curiosity. His goal was to transform himself into a “global citizen,” improve his ability to communicate, work, adapt and socialize across cultures, see and experience new places, people and ways of thinking, improve his fluency in a second language and ultimately improve his longer-term career prospects. Result: 30+ year career which has taken him to over 50 countries and provided the opportunity to live abroad 3 different times.
